【簡測】2016上半年幾款SATA控制晶片簡單評比-AHCI篇 (圖多,不喜勿入)
2013年曾作過類似測試文,歲月流逝,江山代代換人坐。2015年下半年興起更新相關資料庫的想法,無奈閒時不多且整理圖表也需費
時不少,在此小弟先獻醜。前幾年市售的SATA控制晶片百家齊放,
隨著PC產業蕭條,陸續有多家廠商退出此市場,因此在決定控制
晶片評比時,挺難找的,最後敲定以多年前的Intel X79為基準,
順便看看新一代的X99晶片是否突飛猛進?桌上型新晶片Z170就不
在本篇測試裡。
其它受測的第三方SATA控制晶片,依控制晶片廠英文名稱排序,首
先登場的是asmedia(祥碩) ASM1061/ASM1061SE。

囿於ASM1061已蠻常見,本篇測試改測試ASM1061SE SATA Express
控制晶片,在ASUS新一代主機板還蠻容易見到,很可惜的是官方規
格查不到,此次測試ASM1061SE是內建於ASUS X99-E WS/USB 3.1。
因為ASM1061的頻寬僅為 PCI Express lane x1 2.5G and 5GHz,
後來祥碩推出新改款的SATA控制晶片--ASM1062/ASM1062R,將
PCI-E的頻寬升級到PCI Express Gen2 x2,唯一不變的是僅支援
雙Port,未擴增到可接四組SATA裝置,挺可惜的。

本篇受測的擴充卡為銀欣 SilverStone SST-ECS03 SATA RAID卡。

最後是2012年底入手的Marvell 88SE9230,雖然它已算是有點歷史
的SATA控制晶片,也有蠻多板卡廠推出搭載此晶片的擴充卡,它的
優點在於提供總計四組SATA Ports接頭,組合彈性相對較高。

本篇測試的擴充卡為SYBA SD-PEX40054 PCI-Express 2.0 x2 SATA
(6.0Gb/s) HyperDuo 4-port RAID Controller。

簡單介紹結束囉,上機去。
測試環境簡述:
M/B: ASUS X99-E WS/USB 3.1 BIOS 0601
CPU: i7-5930K oc 4.5G
RAM: G.Skil DDR4-3000 CL15-16-16 4Gx4
OS SSD: Fujitsu FSX-240GB SLC SSD 接在H710P上
測試碟: Samsung 850 Pro 256G MLC SSD
OS: Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate x64
AIDA64 Read Test Suite,設定Block Size 1MB及8MB作為測試基
準。此項讀取速率測試,ASM1061SE因其頻寬較低,不論是1MB或
是8MB環境裡均明顯落後,ASM1062R此新起之秀不僅贏過Marvell
88SE9230,部分參數裡甚至贏過Intel X79及X99。

AJA 設定2048*1556 10-bit RGB從128MB~16GB全測一輪。
持平而言,讀取速率以Intel系列晶片略勝,ASM1062R落後幅度不大;
寫入測試,部分環境參數裡ASM1062R贏過Intel晶片,甚至Marvell
88SE9230還贏過X99晶片不少項目。

Anvil's Storage Utility設為Compression 100%及0Fill兩種環境,
把容量值從1GB~32GB式全測試一輪,並強制設為Write Through模式
進行寫入測試。
Compression 0Fill環境。
循序讀取速率以X99晶片奪冠,ASM1062R落後X79晶片幅度不大;循序
寫入測試以ASM1062R平均表現較佳,Marvell 88SE9230也沒有太差。

4K讀取速率X99表現明顯贏過前一代X79晶片,ASM1062R雖屈居亞軍,
已贏過其它人不少,反倒是X79與ASM1061SE相去不遠,Marvell
88SE9230在4K讀取速率不如其它人;4K寫入測試,X79一吐怨氣贏過
X99而居冠,Marvell 88SE9230平均表現也勝過X99,ASM1062R寫入方
面似乎出現罩門,多數寫入情況速率難以突破90MB/s。

4KQD4的讀取速率X79仍勝過X99,ASM1062R在讀取測試敬陪末座,讀
取速率卡在77MB/s附近,ASM1061SE還勝過Marvell 88SE9230;寫入
速率也以X79平均表現勝過X99,大檔案參數裡Marvell 88SE9230略贏
過ASM1061SE,ASM1062R寫入速率徘徊在68MB/s附近而墊底。

AS SSD設定檔案容量為1GB,同時測試Copy Benchmark及Compression
Benchmark。
循序讀取速率以X99表現最快,或是因為AS SSD與Intel RSTe仍有點不
太相容,不僅X79/X99輸給ASM1061SE,Marvell 88SE9230因此獲得此
項測試的冠軍。

4K/4K-64Thrd讀寫測試,由於Intel RSTe Driver與AS SSD軟體不太相
容,X79/X99的寫入測試速率均異常偏低。4K讀取以X99最快、4K寫入
是Marvell 88SE9230最快;4K-64 Thrd讀寫均為ASM1062R最快,
X79/X99的4K-Thrd讀取速率落後第三方控制晶片一段距離。

512B讀寫測試,因Intel RSTe Driver與AS SSD軟體不太相容,
X79/X99的寫入測試速率異常偏低,讀取速率X79還勝過X99,寫入速率

X99平均表現最佳,寫入則由X79平均表現較好,ASM1062R多數測試
勝過X99,Marvell 88SE9230中間容量值測試過成仍會降速;1Fill
型態下,讀取速率也分為兩大族群,X79及X99各自領先,寫入速率以

4K在0Fill/1Fill型態下,X99平均讀取表現較佳,ASM1062R與X79互

測試至此作個簡單的結論。若以Intel X79平台為基準,扣除SSD寫入
老化的影響係數,X99未因較新而取得較明顯的優勢。ASM1062R將頻寬
由PCI-E x1拉高到PCE-E Gen2 x2的頻寬,的確有助於在循序讀寫效
能提升,就數字來看幾乎可追上Intel晶片組的效能,只是部分4K讀寫
效能還有待強化,但是不提供4 Ports支援真的是較大的憾事。Marvell
88SE9230歷經了數年來的考驗,仍有其存在的價值,加上HyperDUO的
附加價值及4Port支援,假如沒有其它新的控制晶片可以取代這些功能
的話,也許它還會存活一段時間。至於ASM1061SE,如果沒有SATA
Express對應裝置可供好好發揮,把它降級成一般SATA控制晶片,這樣
會有點讓人失望。
以上不專業之簡單測試到此結束,下台一鞠躬,一切的批評希望廠商
