日本 NEC 公司今日宣佈 「μPD720200」晶片
為首款支援 5Gbp/s 的 USB 3.0 控制晶片
預定 6 月亮相推出 9 月份進行量產
支援 PCI-Express 2.0 頻寬
操作電壓 3.3v 或 1.05V
採用 FBGA 封裝 176 Pin
符合 USB3.0 Revision 1.0 規範
能支援向下相容 USB2.0 和 USB 1.0
High-Speed(480Mbps) Full-Speed(12Mbps)
NEC 也展示了 PCI-E USB 3.0 擴充卡
但是只有兩端傳輸都為 USB3.0 介面時才能達到 5Gbps/ 速度

USB 3.0的資料傳輸速度是目前 USB2.0（480Mbps）的 10 倍
更是USB1.1（12Mbps）的 400 倍。
USB3.0 是英特爾(Intel)與多家業者合作組成USB 3.0 PromoterGroup共同開發
主要成員包括惠普、英特爾、微軟、NEC、NXP與德州儀器等
訂定把USB的理論吞吐量提高到4Gbps以上的新一代介面標準
好跟另一種互連介面標準1394 (又稱為Firewire)相抗衡。
