According to a recent article posted on AppleInsider it seems
that some Macs released in 2006 will not be supported by
Apple when they release a software update for Boot Camp
later this year, this update will add Windows 7 support.
Models which will not be supported include17 and 20 inch
iMac’s released in 2006, 15 and 17 inch MacBook Pro’s also
released in 2006 and also Mac Pros which were released in
Mid 2006 which feature Intel Xeon Dual-core 2.66GHz or
3GHz processors (check out AppleInsider for more exact
details).
The reason that Apple are choosing not to support these
particular models is currently unknown, but chances are
it is due to unavailable drivers, if developments are made
I’m sure Apple will support these models.
