ASUS發佈採用nForce 680i SLI晶片ROG系列Striker Extreme主機板
NVIDIA's nForce 680i SLI for the extreme enthusiastASUS今天發佈了它新的Striker Extreme主機板。新的Striker Extreme主機板是屬於ASUS ROG系列的一部分被設計成專為Poweruser來使用。新的Striker Extreme以NVIDIA最近宣佈的nForce 680i SLI晶片組為特色，支援著1,333 MHz FSB(front-side bus). Intel Quad-core processors and NVIDIA Quad-SLI technologies 。
Striker Extreme以大量針對Poweruser設計為特點。ASUS在Striker Extreme背版I/O部份裝備一個LCD可以進行系統起動過程診斷。除了背版I/O部份裝備一個LCD之外，I/O也採用了Led照明設備為特色。Striker Extreme特點也在主機板內建了許多LED照明裝置。另外ASUS Striker Extreme也直接在主機板上面內建了三個按鈕分別是開關、重新啟動和重新設置CMOS開關。
最後獨特特點ASUS Striker Extreme採用了SupremeFX外接式音效卡 。這音效卡是針對家庭Analog Devices SoundMAX High Definition audio codec。在主機板上使用SoundMAX High Definition audio codec能為用戶帶來體驗真實EAX 2.0和未來支援Sonic Focus technologies in Microsoft’s Windows Vista.。
ASUS Striker Extreme的其它顯著特點包括三個PCI Express x16插槽、一個PCI Express x1, 二PCI 、六組SATA 、二組e.SATA 、10個USB 、二組1394a和支援雙通道DDR2 800/667/533記憶體。
